I am a mother, artist, musician and registered massage therapist. I have been immersed in the arts ever since I can remember. I now reside in Morriston, Ontario with my husband and 2 daughters who are my muses for creating a line of clothing and dolls. I combine different mediums in my art and strive to do the same in my designs using a wide range of fabric combinations, screen printing, and engaging textiles in each unique handcrafted item.
Raised in beautiful Prince Edward Island, I took an avid interest in creative arts from an early age. I grew up taking classes in drawing, painting, pottery, theatre and mosaics. I studied Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa and was exposed to a range of mediums including photography, painting, sculpture, and multi-media. My travels have taken me throughout Europe and North America where I developed a lens for taking in the different landscapes and people and then processing these experiences with art, mostly through watercolor and acrylic painting. My work in organic farming taught me how to slow down and observe the beauty in my natural surroundings. I began selling the jewellery and clothing that I made at farmer's markets and fairs from Georgia to California, then North to British Columbia. I have trained with artists who taught me to sew, introduced me to wire work jewellery, woodworking and outdoor sculpture installation. My exploration of different mediums has opened my eyes to how different disciplines can be merged in many fascinating ways. I enjoy combining my love of nature, painting and photography with textile designs.
My current line of clothing, accessories and dolls have been enjoyed at juried shows throughout Ontario.
